Voice এর সংজ্ঞা :   Voice  অর্থ বাচ্য , ক্রিয়া প্রকাশের ভঙ্গিমাকেই  Voice  বা বাচ্য বলে । নিচের বাক্য দুটি পড়  I eat a mango ( আমি একটি আম খাই) । A mango is eaten by me (আমার দ্বারা একটা  আম খাওয়া হয়)। প্রথম বাক্যে   subject হল I  2য় বাক্যে subject হল    A mango  প্রথম বাক্যে objects হল a mango 2য় বাক্যে objects হল me ( I এর objective case). প্রথম বাক্যে verb 'eat' হল active(সক্রিয়) এখানে করতা নিজেই কাজ করছে। ২য় বাক্যে verb 'is eaten' হল নিস্ক্রিয় (করতার উপরে চাপানো হরছে) এবার বুঝতে পারছ বাক্য দুটির গঠনগত পাথক্য?  কিন্তু এদের উভয় বাক্যের বক্তব্য একই।প্রধান ব্যাপার হলো verb ১ম বাক্যে eat মানে খাই, ২য় বাক্যে is eaten মানে 'খাওয়া হয়'-সরাসরি বলা হরছে না যেন নিস্ক্রিয় ভাবে ঝিমিয়ে ঝিমিয়ে বলা হচ্ছে। প্রথম verb টি ( eat-খাই) দেখলেই যে করতার (I)প্রভাব চোখে/কানে এসে লাগে , ২য় বাক্যের verb (is eaten-খাওয়া হয়)টি দেখলে তার করতার কথা মনে পড়ে না। verb এর দুই প্রকার রুপকে...

Gerund কাকে বলে? কিভাবে চেনা যায়? এবং এর ব্যবহার।  বাক্যে যে Verb এর শেষে ing যুক্ত হয়ে যে Verb একই সাথে Verb ও Noun-এর কাজ করে থাকে তাকেই gerund বলে । অন্যভাবে বলা যায়, ing যুক্ত যে Verb Noun এর কাজ করে তাকে Gerund বলে।  যেমন :  walking, swimming, running, reading...etc 1. Walking is a good exercise. 2. Swimming is a good exercise. এখানে Walking এবং Swimming একই সাথে যেমন কাজ করা (Verb) বোঝাচ্ছে তেমনি একটা exercise এর নামও Noun বোঝাচ্ছে। সুতরাং Walking, Swimming হলো Gerund। Gerund -কে চেনার সহজ উপায়: সাধারণত বাক্যকে কী, কাকে দ্বারা প্রশ্ন করলে যদি কোনাে ing যুক্ত Verb উত্তর দেয় তাহলে সেটি Gerund হবে। উল্লেখ্য যে, Gerund সাধারণত বাক্যের Subject অথবা Object হয়। Gerund কোনাে বাক্যে Subject কিংবা Object হিসেবেও ব্যবহৃত হতে পারে। যেমন - Swimming is a good exercise.
